Epilogue

The Senators are out of the tournament but some of the team returned to the park today to play a game of baseball (kids vs adults plus some local boys). We're watching the final game of the tournament-- the winners bracket champion Simi Valley versus the home team Walnut. So far, 2-1 in the 3rd.

Final report

The Senators played better today against the host team, Walnut. Patrick pitched the first two innings and pitched very well, got an RBI hit and made some nice defensive plays at shortstop. So the great season has come to an end, with many great memories, and many many pictures!

Some game photos

Here are some photos from today's game. It was a tough game for the Senators--they played a team from San Diego that was very good at the plate, and made few errors. San Diego scored 6 in the first and 8 in the second. The boys didn't give up, but the final score was 14-2. They'll play another game tomorrow morning, then another if they win. As you can see the weather is magnificent, if a little hot. Walnut is in the grassy hills of northeastern LA, about 20 minutes from anything that resembles the LA that looks familiar. After a swim and some diner, the game was water under the bridge, or aqueduct as the case may be in southern cal!
